Fast food deals or NO DEAL at all

WATCH VIDEO FIRST THEN READ...

Hello again,

First I just want to thank all of my clients, visitors, and supporters who take the time to read and follow my posts. As you can tell, I am a personal trainer here in the Atlanta area. The difference is, you won't catch me trying to sell my clients a bunch of unnecessary supplements or charge them an arm and a leg for training assistance. This is because I truly want to motivate and help people live healthier lifestyles. For those of you who don't know me personally, I left corporate America as a Mechanical Engineer to do what I love, which is to share my views and practices as related to health and wellness with hopes of not only influencing but saving thousands of lives. And as 2012 approaches, I know that I will do just that. Now then, let's get into today's post.

This post is intended to challenge all of you to really make a conscious decision about not only what you consume into your bodies or feed your children, but how much of it as well. The video to the left is just one simple example of what we as consumers are consuming on a daily basis and not even thinking twice about the health effects of the food. It's not just about calories, or how much salt is in the food. It's about the whole nutritional value of what you're eating or lack there of.

The Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults study (2010) revealed that people who ate fast food two or more times a week experienced an average weight gain of 10 pounds more than study participants who ate fast food less than once a week. The study also proved that regular fast food consumption increased the risk of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. This risk is heightened further with other lifestyle factors such as alcohol consumption, little exercise and smoking.

Just think logically for a second. You as a consumer can go get a full meal and sometimes 2 meals for the price of 1 all ranging at prices lower than what it cost to get  a gallon of milk.
So where is the real value in what you're buying? Is this a deal, or lifetime setup for disease and sickness that keeps you coming back for more? Does the fast food industry care so much about us that it is willing to save us thousands of dollars in grocery costs so that we can eat at their establishments instead of buying and preparing our own food? I think not!

We have all heard the term "You get what you pay for" right? If I told you that you could get a new 2011 vehicle fully loaded for $3000.00, you would automatically think there was a catch wouldn't you? Then you would probably try to Google the car to do your own research on what you're actually getting for this wonderful price. That same light bulb should be going off in your brain when you see all of these fast food deals that seem to good to be true.  That's because they are too good to be true.

Processed foods (fast foods, non fresh foods, junk food, etc.) are very toxic and have little to no nutritional value. But the truth of the matter is, we as consumers are ignorant to how unhealthy fast food and processed foods are in general. And if we knew all of the hidden ingredients and actual extent of how the food actually affects our bodies, we would think twice about having McDonalds or Burger King or whatever other junk food that we as consumers love to indulge in.

In my next blog post, I will post of video revealing a case study that I performed on myself back in 2009 and the steps that I took to take my health and wellness into my own hands. It was the best decision that I would ever make. You don't want to miss it!
